Caryn has more than 35 years of work experience. Since 1992, she has been leading The Human Resource Practice, a comprehensive full service HR company with a mission to rehumanise organisations and create courageous cultures at their chosen clients, through mind-set and behaviour change, Dare to Lead™ interventions based on the work of Brené Brown’s research and books, coaching, people and leadership development, and consulting solutions.
Caryn has coached for over twenty-three years and has trained many leaders and line manager coaches as well. This coaching has included a number of entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, participants in leadership or manager programmes, in both one-on-one & in a group format. She lived in London in the 80s where for four years she worked for an international management consultancy & manufacturing company. Caryn has worked at the University of the Witwatersrand Graduate School of Business (Wits Business School), lectured and is still a part time member of academic staff. She is also actively involved the Johannesburg Business School. Caryn has a Masters in Management in the field of Business Executive Coaching (MMBEC) in 2017. Her thesis was on “The influence of managerial coaching behaviours on employee engagement”.
She was a finalist for the Entrepreneurial Category for the Regional Awards for the BWA in 2003. She is both a Certified Dare to Lead™ facilitator based on the research and work of Dr Brené Brown, as well as a certified coach in the work of Dr Tim Clark’s Four stages of Psychological Safety. She also coaches in the work of Shirzad Chamine’s (a New York Times bestseller and Stanford lecturers) Positive Intelligence. She is also completing her certification as a Certified Reinvention Practitioner. Caryn is a proud South African: loves the bush, family, & mountain bike riding.
